The changes were made Wednesday without prior public notice. Today, only Treasure Island, Circus Circus and Casino Royale offer free parking in their lots.
MGM was the first company to charge for self-parking in 2016, and other companies have followed suit since then. The company did not comment on why the rates were increased, but said residents and customers enrolled in the upper tiers of the MGM loyalty program would continue to receive limited free parking. MGM has dropped its previous one- to four-hour and four- to 24-hour fares. The company confirmed Friday that rates at all properties have increased to $18 Monday through Thursday and $23 Friday through Sunday.
